First post!
It's a mighty old question I know, but I'm trying to find the best bearing lube. Speed cream get's too much dirt, WD40 is hell, Tri-flow is like Speed Cream, and this silicone spray junk dries up out of the bearing.

i've used speed cream and wd40. wd40 is the worst thing you could do, its a fucking dirt magnet. speed cream didn't do too much so i just gave up all together and now use nothing. it works suprisingly well. personally i don't really think its that necessary to lube em up that much, a good clean should be enough to get em going again.

But running your bearings dry screws'em up. The point of oil is to reduce friction between the balls and the races. Without it, your bearings will actually heat up, and develop flatspots and freeze.

yeah i know, but my solution to this is to buy cheap blank bearings they do the job pretty well and are cheap to replace if they do break. actually my current set has lasted well over a year without ever being cleaned or lubed and still roll fine.
just go with motor oil, i'm pretty sure a friend used it a while ago and it worked well enough.

Daredevil Bearing Antiseptic Spray is pretty good and it's foolproof. A little squirt into your retainer, spin the bearing a sec (the dirt and shit just dissolves) then one more quick squirt for good measure and you're done.
I'd still be using it today if the shop I go to carried it. Now I use Speed Cream. It's a great product, but requires a little more effort to use.
I'll have had my Reds for a year in April, and they spin almost as fast and quietly today as they did the day I bought them.

Check out Militech. It's supposed to be the top gun & weapon lubricant. It's also supposed to be the best oil you can use for damn near anything.
I don't remember the website... look it up

3 in 1 household oil is great. My bearings were super rusted and locked up yesterday, and today they barely make noise and roll great.

www.militec-1.comThere. It's Militec. Order a free sample, tell me how it works. I have a sample, but I haven't used it because I just cleaned my bearings and filled them with Speed Cream...
