There's been no going up or down for me. I'm stuck and can't progress.
I'm what I would call an intermediate level skater (judging by the levels of others in my area).
Good things about my skateboarding are...
Varial flips Ollie casperflips pop shovit axle stall my crazy consistency my ability to kill people in skate (most of the time)
I don't know how I can get better. I want to progress. All my tricks are pretty much as consistent as can be...I say screw heelflips. I'm trying to learn switch but the patience required screws me up. I'm looking to learn new tricks that are fun and original, not some normal everyday fliptrick any average person in the park can do. It all doesn't work out that well though. My skill level for the weird tricks that I wanna learn isn't that great. The cool tricks are all pretty much an advanced level.
So I'm asking, aside from switch (I'm working on it) or taking up any other form of skateboarding (I'll stick with street), do you people have any suggestions?
Thanks

i know it sounds obvious, but all you gotta do is look at the spots you skate, the ramps at your park and think of combining tricks you can currently do. if you can think of it you can do it. failing that learn a few of the more obscure tricks. late shuvs, impossibles, double flips maybe try a 540 shuvit. there is no limit. start flipping into manuals, try flipping out. try to progress on mini ramp. find an obscure street obstacle and see what you can come up with.

Thanks, but I tried that already Ended up smacking my head on the bowl badly, thank goodness for pro-tech. I don't think that's my thing, but I'll try again. The mini ramp was a good idea, if only I had one anywhere. Now kickers...that seems more like it...I kind of feel hopeless now. I tried fs flips a lot and couldnt get close no matter what, lost my bs flips a while ago, sacked myself on heelflip variations...hopefully the manual thing should help. I don't really know though, any other suggestions?

Boneless, no-compys, boneless 180s (etc), bs flips, fs flips, callestrial, half cab, fakie stuff.

Try your freestyle stuff. Go out and try to learn those really uncommon tricks like old pressure flips, m80 flips, 360 underflips (or twisted underflips), 1 1/2 kickbacks, and kickflip to rails.(<-- which really seem to impress people for some reason, I'm guessing cause mullen does it?)

you seem to want the benefits without the hard work...you don't have the patience and you're complaining you can't do harder tricks...why...coz you never try em. try them, and learn the skills you need to advance to the "advanced" flip tricks (most of the things you can't do are pretty intermediate in my book), if you can't do something, don't complain about inability to do it in 5 minutes, stay there until things start to come together. try anything you can think of, and don't hold back because you "don't have the skills".

I wasn't expecting that. Well I guess I was a little cocky about it... But so many of my other tricks came so easily. With the exception of 180s. I guess I'll have to experience the hard work involved in this....360 flips...

take my advice, go find a sidewalk with a cut out. now hit as fast as you can go launch it. then try variations. damn fun, and they're everywhere so you don't have to worry about kickers or shit. seems to impress people when you can bust waist high out of a 6 inch piece of curved concrete.

nose grind reverts. i have to agree with forelander. and most of that stuff is like easy for me. try b/s nose grind f/s 180 out. i saw some guy and i nearly creamed my pants. i was like "wha!". with b/s nosegrind reverts dont hold them, just like do em kinda short, i dunno, i reckon the look better that way

I agree. You should appreciate what skill you do have in your short time of skating (8 months?). I'm approaching my 4th year anniversary of skating, and I still can't do some of the stuff you can. Think how much THAT sucks.

Well to tell you the truth, when I started skating I never thought it would be easy, but it kind of was So I guess this is where it gets hard eh? This should be fun
