Ok, my landing has been going crazy lately.
Yesterday was the first day I skated really hard in a long time, and now I'm really sore and won't be able to skate today. So to give me something to think about, maybe someone could help me with my landings.
Flip tricks: For kickflips I CAN land right, but lately my heels have been hanging off and touching the ground thus eliminating all of my speed. Sometimes I also land on the back of the board. Just on a side note, how do I make my kickflips higher? For 360 flips I either never land or always land on the nose.
Grinds: For 50-50 I always land with my front foot's heel hanging way off and sometimes it causes my to slip off.
I can't think of anymore now but when I do I'll post them here.

to do your kickflips higher you have to do some what of a late flip.

to make kickflips higher do them more like an ollie - have more drag of your front foot before you flick, and make the flick way more subtle, just a little side note on the end of an ollie, rather than an exagerated, ugly kicking motion.

I can vary the height of my kickflip... but usually catch them 1/2 of a foot in the air but cant hold it.... i just pop harder and do that lateflip thing

Just out of curiosity, how high do the rest of you catch your kickflips?

For your 360 flip set your front foot up more and not so much on the kickflip edge.

For 50-50's, just put your toes somewhat hanging (or close to it) for the ollie.

Actually visualizing is one of the best tips I've heard. For me if I take about 5 minutes to visualize something its gets a ton of a lot easier to do.

Just out of curiosity, how high do the rest of you catch your kickflips? I was able to kickflip over my rail quite a few times.

concentrate on hitting the 'pocket' on the front of the board....
the pocket is the spot right where the nose starts.....I had been trying to land kickflips for 3 YEARS and found that it helps.....
don't just think about it though, concentrate on that spot....

Can anybody help with heelflips? I always seem to land infront of them. Like, my heels are on, but the toes drag drag like a muthafucka.
With mine, theres alot of pop. I ollie first, at least try to. And tehy go almost a foot. Should I jsut try and start to get them lower?

With heelflips i find it helps if you bend only at your knees, keep your back straight and don't lean over. have your weight centred over the board like this, pop and when you land you'll probably find you're on the board.

the best advice i ever got when learning heelflips was to look right down in front of your leading leg in the middle of the board, helps keep you centered over the board since your parallel with the board that way.
for 360 flips its all in the scoop, try jumping foward a bit like a shuv it. its also an all or nothing trick so don't puss out or you'll have some cool dents in your shin to show for it.
