I think it'll be better than your expectations, just worse than theirs.

I'd like to see them prove me wrong, but I still think its a bad idea as is.
But hey, the GameCube controller sucks, so if it's at least better than that....

I've been considering the Xbox 360, but I'm still undecided(money is a factor here).
I'll almost certainly get the PS3, for the backwards compatibility, and because of Metal Gear Solid 4.

xbox 360's very close to being released, i think they are trying for a worldwide launch but i'm not sure if they consider australia part of the world. chances are we will get it late. ps3's a long way off, maybe a year but it sounds like it will have uber power.
i've been hearing the xbox 360 is a bit of a disapointment from early reviews and is not so much of a new console as it is an upgrade. ps3 is the way to go

The latest news out of Sony places the PS3 as releasing in summer of 2006(which I believe is winter in Australia, ho ho ho). What I've been hearing about the 360, is that the games that have released with it aren't much of a step beyond the current generation of consoles. I don't think the 360 launch games completely take advantage of the new console's power... But the PS3 does look to be the powerhouse so far. And as long as it isn't a cheap piece of crap like the PS2... I'll be getting it.

they were all pc ports and if they weren't they were usually available on every system anyway. xbox had halo which for some reason was a major selling point.

i like the ps2. xbox never had a decent line of games going for it though. Oh, I do too. It has the best line-up of games by far, and the system is still pretty powerful, all things considered.... but, the console itself, is a cheaply made bastard that likes to break down. I've already replaced my PS2 once(which is the first console I've EVER had to replace), and my replacement is already giving me some fits. The PS3 had better be a much higher quality piece of hardware....
