Well, it turns out there is going to be a DOOM movie... looks like the script is pretty much done. I personally think it will be awesome as long as they stay true to the game, but what do you guys think?
(Info says that the movie will likely come out in about a year)

as long as it dosnt end up like all other video game movies then it will be awsome and might be one of the scariest movies i will have seen because the new game scared the shit out of my the first time i played it

theres been rumours about a doom movie for a long ass time. it'll probably end up like resident evil which was postponed for years, or worse like tomb raider which was postponed for longer and sucked even worse...and then they made a sequel.
of course look at the mortal kombat movies, when i watched them when i was a young'n they were some kick ass shit right there.

i still think the first mortal kombat movie is some kick ass shit. the second one is a totally different story

Never watched Mortal Kombat.... but the reason why the Resident Evil and Tomb Raider movies weren't as good as they should have been is because they strayed from the games. Why can't filmmakers stay true to a game?
I just hope DOOM doesn't get crapped up. Don't focus on the story, just give us lots of carnage and mindless slaughter! ;D

as long as there isn't a matrix style flying through the air shot of a lost soul ( those skull things that fly with fire around them) i'll be happy.

;D ...that would actually be somewhat funny.
But you're right, it has no place in DOOM. (Speaking of the monsters, I hope every last one of them makes it into the movie, including the Cyberdemon!)

top monsters that must be in the game are the cyberdemon, imp, that one that shoots fire and resurects other enemies and of course the spider mastermind.

That would be the Arch-Vile. ;D And there must be gobs of dumb zombies to kill... and maybe a few Mancubi just to gross people out.

if the film makers want to make any sort of homeage to the games they will probably include a 1st person shot.

Another thing... the main character shouldn't have a name. When the credits roll, you should see the actors name next to 'DOOM guy'... ;D

yeah or space marine #1...i started thinking about what a doom movie would be like and if it pays homage to the game there will be no plot line except that your alone and have to fight off a bunch of demons and end up working your way into hell...the only music would be midi rock and roll...there would be no dialogue...and when ever someone left the theater a screen would pop up and say 'do you really want to quit such a great movie? press y to go back to DOS'...i've forgotten what i was talking about, but i'll be interested to see if hollywood can pull this off.
