i don't know about you, but i can't remember the last time i gave a detailed trick tip for a trick that i like to do that i want to share with the world, through sheer laziness mostly but partly due to thinking that most people won't even give it a go, but this is a four stage plan to learning 360semiflips including the run down for regular semiflips late varial heels and late heels in reverse order, as they are the most helpful tricks to have when learning this particular trick, the first 3 explainations are for a general guide to the tricks the only real detailed trick tip is for the 360 semi flip
'sitting comfortably? well i'll begin'
ollie late heeflips
1. set up for an ollie with your back foot sprung on its toes for an easy escape.
2. pop your ollie kicking you front foot off the board ollie-north style.
3. suck your back foot up just above your front foot height.
4. using the back foot, kick across the board aiming for just next to the middle of the truck on the grip tape side.
5. the board should start flipping, if you find you can only flip it half way, try creating a more defined piston like motion with the back foot, not kicking down at the board, but kicking across and lifting the flipping foot, this also prevents the board from shooting down to the floor automatically, a hand thing when learning more advanced late flip variants.
6. its all over very quickly.....land the bugger
ollie late varial heelflip
well there is not much difference between this trick and the ollie late heelflip so i'll just detail positioning amendments etc:
1. your back foot upon seeint gup should be nesteled inside the tail instead of being sprung like the late heelflip
2. upon popping pop as though doing a f/s shifty ollie, this creates the shuvit motion when the late heel is released, enabling it to spin freely beneath you,
thats about all there is to add to that
semiflip
1. position the front foot to be pointed towards the nose, like a kickflip or hardflip, experience with hardflips is helpful when doing this trick
2.the back foot is positioned with the toes in the centre of the tail
3. pop the board and kickflip as per usual
4. immediatly after flicking, kick your back foot forwards as with the shifty-pop of the late varial heel and lift your foot up in that familiar piston like motion
5. the rest of the trick is plane sailing the difcult part is the timing between the kickflip and the late flip bit, the board should flip 1 1/4 on the second part of the trick
6. ride away clean?
360semiflip[/u]
well in the above tricks you have almost everything you need to do this, logic would dictate that to make it spin 360 you kick it harder right? wrong this wil just cause the board to only flip 1/4 and doa late shuvit type thing, not nice at all
1. set up as per usual for the standard semiflip. but a little more like you would for a very falt hardflip (i do this just like a 360 flip set up incidently, but with my back foot a little more flat against the tail)
2. instead of popping a kickflip, aim to start a hardflip, without it actually getting through the f/s shuvit. this provides the board with the extra push required to flip it f/s 360.
3. instead of kicking out and then lifting up, scoop in a diagonal line so you can get your foot right out of the way (its worth adding that being able to jump high is an asset here)
4. let the board flip beneath you and hopfully ride away
well in essence all this should lead you to a 360 semiflip i would advise getting comfortable doing each trick in the order given as it makes everything alot easier and that 360 semiflip all the more clean and enjoyable
glad to be of service
