dude, i hate books. so much. i just read "the chocolate war" for school. my whole class had 3 weeks and the jocks still didn't finish it and i had 2 days. it was like the worst book it ends with the main character jerry having the shit beaten out of him and the baddies winning. and they arnt even baddies. and i goto my teacher who has warts on her elbows "miss, this isnt a very good book for people who are at an age where they may be taking risks and being individual. like i bet 3 or 4 people who were gonna listen to different music or dye their hair are totally turned off by this book now" and she goes "but its a view of the real world in which the people you want to win dont always win" and im like "well if i wanted to experience the real world i would go out and live and not be an english teacher reading books about the real world. and its not even very real. the book is based around a mafia of 16 year olds that run a school from beyond the shadows" and then she sent me out of the classroom.
and then we did an exam about it and i got an A+. but thats only cause my nice teacher marked it. i bet if the warty one did i woulda gotten a B or something. so in conclusion the only book i have ever read and liked is the truth machine, and that was cause i liked the concepts behind it, not the actual text. i wish i was dyslexic, then i would have an excuse to not like reading.

i had a read a book for college, before it started and then when i get to college i have to go to the convocation and talk to the author. the book was the middle passage, it sucked, i'm sure the author does to.

Hey vvman, don't rip on books in general. A really good book will kick most movies' ass any day. But a shitty book, yeah, it deserves some verbal abuse. ;D

I've only read part of that monster, so my verdict on it's potential shittiness will have to wait. ;D

yeah, i dont mind a good read. but a book that i have to read or is boring really shits me. i really hate listening to people who cant read very well have to read out loud. like im in year 9 (which i do believe is the equivelent of a grade 10 dude in the US)and the teacher makes people read out loud tot he class in an attempt to encourage them to get better, but all ti does is make them feel embaressed about the fact they are borderline dyslexic, so they read even less. of course 3-4 minute speeches become 10 minute lectures and lesson can become very short lived experiences in terms of learning. so its not as bad as it could be. i liked illeagal alien, that was cool. i thought the harry potter books wernt very realistic, in terms of characters. like forelander sent me this version where harry potter just rapes that whole family with a magical 30 inch dick, which is probably what would happen. i hated the lord of the wrings. biggest homo fest ever. i bet you would be less likely to see less gay shit in the gayest ever episode of "queer as folk"

Tess of the d'urbervilles really really sucks. there was a rape and it wasn't even a graphic description. normally rape kicks things up a notch, but no this dude has to crap on about crap for 5 pages.

talking of rape. i cant believe everyone is kicking up shit up about nicole kidman kissing that kid half nude. i mean fuck oath, if that doesnt make the kid feel a ton of alot better about being ugly and fat, i dont know what will. i mean she is like only the hottest mum ever and shes pashing you while you can see her tits, thats not statutory rape, its a fucking dream come true.
