avenged sevenfold "city of evil" - take a great band, cut off their balls and you get this. last two cds were great, this one just pisses me off, the singer sounds like a bastardization of axl rose and the singer from stp.

from first to last "dear diary, my teen angst has a body count" - awesome drummer, whiny bitch singer, has its moments when the singer shuts the fuck up.

gatsby's american dream "volcano" - keeps with their original stylings, although missing the edge it once had in first two albums.

funeral for a friend "hours" - like fftl but minus the insane double bass, i've yet to actually listen to the whole thing in one sitting.

and the best cd i've bought this week

fade to bluegrass: a bluegrass tribute to metallica - fucking brilliant, 4 words "fuel played with banjos."

Well, I never really liked Avenged Sevenfold to start with, so

A couple weeks ago I did buy Arch Enemy's new cd, 'Doomsday Machine'... good stuff. There's one really dumb song, but hey, what can you do...

I have a sinister plan to snag a copy of Opeth's 'Morningrise' from eBay, but we'll see how that develops...


Oh, and on that Metallica/bluegrass bit... it's a telling sign of how far down the shithole Metallica has fallen, when bluegrass sounds better than their newest cd.

I did, amazingly. When it was over, I wanted to punch them all in the head, really hard.

It made me feel much better about myself and the music I play, that's for sure.
